First GAZPROM branded filling station opened in Balkans

NIS (Naftna Indusrija Srbije), a subsidiary company of Gazprom Neft opened the first filling station under GAZPROM brand in Belgrade. Later on, a large-scale project for deploying the new premium retail network of GAZPROM filling stations on the fuel market will cover other Balkan countries as well.
A network under the new brand is to be developed in Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the nearest future first filling stations will appear in Bulgaria and Romania. By the end of 2013, the GAZPROM network will number about 100 filling stations. NIS will be responsible for operational management of the GAZPROM filling stations network in the Balkan Region.
The GAZPROM filling stations network will occupy a premium niche in the Balkan fuel market. Fuel of Euro 5 or higher standard, high-quality lubricants and other related products will be sold at filling stations. The filling stations may include shops, restaurants and cafes. Other services, for instance, wireless Internet access will also be available there.

We get closer to consumers by offering them high-quality fuel produced at our factories and meeting European standards. I am sure that the combination of these factors with a recognizable brand will make GAZPROM petrol filling stations one of the retail market leaders in the Balkans”, said Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.

NIS is one of the largest vertically integrated petroleum companies in Southeastern Europe. It deals with oil and gas exploration, production and processing as well as refined products marketing. Major shareholders are Gazprom Neft (56.5 per cent) and the Government of the Republic of Serbia. The company owns two refineries in the towns of Pancevo and Novi Sad with the total refining capacity of 7.3 million tons per year, a network of 350 petrol filling stations under NIS Petrol brand and oil depots as well. NIS operates in a number of European countries – Serbia, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Bulgaria, Macedonia and takes part in a production project in Angola.
