Process gas deliveries were launched today at the first power unit of Adler TPP according to the construction schedule.
The gas supplies are fundamentally important for the main stage of startup operations at gas turbine facilities of the first power unit, such as test run of the Adler TPP turbines.
The following operations were carried out to ensure gas delivery: blowdown and pneumatic testing of inlet gas pipelines, testing of gas assets and the gas pipeline of the power unit No. 1.
Commenting on gas delivery to the thermal power plant Alexander Fedorusenko, First Deputy Director General of Gazprom Investproject said: “Today we are taking synergetic efforts on stagewise implementation of all the startup activities. We have reached the final stage of the project implementation. Gas delivery to the station is a crucial milestone as it enables to start large-scale testing of the key equipment at the Adler TPP. Completion of all the startup activities will be followed by preparations for commissioning.”

Background
Adler TPP was included in the Program for the Construction of Olympic Venues and the Development of Sochi as a Mountain Climatic Resort. The Adler TPP is to be commissioned in 2012 according to the Olympic venues construction schedule. Adler TPP will be a key power generating facility in Sochi and adjacent areas.
The TPP will be based on two combined cycle power units with the total capacity of 360 MW. The process scheme is based on four gas turbine units (GTU) manufactured by Italian ANSALDO and two steam turbines manufactured by Kaluga Turbine Plant. Upon commissioning, Adler TPP is projected to consume 580 million cubic meters per year.
