New sports complex inauguration in Pikalevo

On July 15, 2011 the Pikalevo town of the Boksitogorsky District (Leningrad Oblast) hosted inauguration of the Leader sports and health complex constructed by Gazprom transgaz Saint Petersburg as part of the Gazprom to Children program.
The ground floor of the complex houses a modern gym equipped for handball, football, volleyball, basketball and tennis. With the stands receiving 200 spectators the gym suits for holding mass sports events. The first floor houses facilities to be equipped with exercisers and fitness equipment. Leader has all utility facilities required for a modern spots club including shower rooms and 6 locker rooms. A physician office, a chill-out and psychological release room, a billiard room, a coach room and a café for visitors are envisaged as well.
Taking part in the inauguration ceremony were representatives of the Leningrad Oblast, Boksitogorsky District and Pikalevo town Administrations as well as management of Gazprom transgaz Saint Petersburg.
“The Pikalevo residents got an outstanding opportunity for taking physical training and sports,” noted Valery Serdyukov, Governor of the Leningrad Oblast, “we thank Gazprom for providing this opportunity.”
Georgy Fokin, Director General of Gazprom transgaz Saint Petersburg expressed his warmest congratulations to the future visitors of the sports complex. “I believe that both children and adults, everyone who seeks to be a winner both in sports and in life will visit the sports complex with such a sonorous name as 'Leader',” he said.
