The development of Gazprom's Quality Management System took place within the framework of the Company's Year of Quality, during which the following occurred:
- a Register of Auditors of Gazprom's Quality Management System was formed. The Register includes 21 employees of the Company's structural units, each of whom has received proper training at Gazprom Corporate Institute.
Audits were performed in 10 Departments of Gazprom within the boundaries of the Quality Management System, as well as in five subsidiaries:
- as part of the first compliance audit to verify conformity of Gazprom's Quality Management System with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard, the following activities were added to the System's scope: construction of new facilities for the gas supply system; expansion, renovation, re-equipment, diagnostics, routine maintenance and repairs of active facilities; and metrological support for hydrocarbon production and supplies;
- the STO Gazprom 9001–2018 'Management Systems. Quality Management Systems. Requirements' was approved. Effective from November 1, 2018, the standard takes into account the specifics of the fuel and energy complex and sets additional stringent requirements for contractors and suppliers;
- Gazprom's annual Quality Assurance Prize was instituted and awarded for the first time. Its primary objectives are:
- to implement highly efficient quality management methods;
- to facilitate the optimization of business processes of subsidiaries' quality management systems, as well as employ best practices so as to improve efficiency at subsidiaries;
- to stimulate employees of structural units at the subsidiaries that implement, maintain and improve quality management systems;
- to promote the achievements of subsidiaries in the field of quality assurance.
The first edition of the contest involved 19 subsidiaries, with the following winners:
- awards in the Business Excellence category for companies with more than 6,000 employees went to Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk (first place, also named the Laureate), Gazprom Transgaz Surgut (second place), and Gazprom Transgaz Kazan (third place);
- awards in the Business Excellence category for companies with 1,000 to 6,000 employees went to Gazprom Transgaz Samara (first place, also named the Laureate), Gazprom Dobycha Noyabrsk (second place), and Severneftegazprom (third place);
- first place in the Business Excellence category for companies with less than 1,000 employees went toGazprom Svyaz (also named the Laureate);
- the Laureate title in the Energy of Growth category went to Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy.
