Yo-Philosophy presented to Gazprom
December 22, 2011
The Yo-Mobile presentation took place at the Gazprom headquarters premises on Thursday. Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee was in the driver's seat of a concept car and rode several laps around the New Year tree by the Yo-Crossover. Alexey Miller promised to provide support for the project and to buy this car for himself. But it will not be in red, it should be painted in Gazprom's corporate colors: white, azure and blue.
The car displayed in the pavilion looked like a space ship: round, drop-shaped body; doors opening in an unusual way by moving back in a smooth manner; red and white leather, a big color display inside. But the main difference from usual cars is a capability to run on both gasoline and natural gas. Unfortunately, it is rarity for our country as yet.
Andrey Biryukov, President of Yarovit Holding and CEO of Yo-Auto project, and Alexey Miller seeing over Yo-Concept
“Why is it red?” That was the first question asked by Gazprom CEO, being disappointed that the car had not been painted in the Company's corporate colors, to Andrey Biryukov, his counterpart from the Yo-Auto project. But Andrey Biryukov was not embarrassed and answered, “It can be repainted.”
Alexey Miller got behind the wheel, rolled it and checked how windows and doors of the car were opening.
Then a video about an imminent environmental disaster and a significant shift of the ecological balance caused by increasing day-by-day greenhouse emissions was shown to the presentation participants. Upon that, natural gas fired engines exhaust neither sulfur nor plumb compounds. Thus, natural gas vehicles cause almost no harm to the atmosphere. The video ended with the slogan “Yo-Philosophy. We care about the future.”
Andrey Biryukov, CEO of the Yo-Auto project reported to Alexey Miller about the Yo-Mobile advantages. According to his estimates, 100 thousand natural gas vehicles can consume approximately 4 billion cubic meters of gas annually. It is not a bad addition to Gazprom’s sales in the Russian market.
The Yo-Crossover was hidden from media in a neighboring pavilion. The car is painted in red and white with the Gazprom logo on it. Its shape is similar to that of Nissan Juke. Alexey Miller took the navigator’s seat near the driver – a professional car racer.
The vehicle made several laps around the New Year tree. Alighting from the car, Gazprom CEO said that he was very satisfied and promised to buy the Yo-Mobile for himself.
Talking to media, Alexey Miller called the project excellent and said that Gazprom was ready to support it. Signing of a sponsorship contract with the Yo sports team is not far away. Andrey Biryukov assured Gazprom CEO that the team would certainly participate in the most prestigious competition – Dakar Rally. Even though, for this purpose amendments to the existing regulations would be necessary for a natural gas vehicle to be admitted to contests.
