The Northern Latitudinal Railway project provides for the construction of the Obskaya – Salekhard – Nadym – Pangody – Novy Urengoy – Korotchaevo railroad line stretching for 707 kilometers. The new railway will connect the Severnaya and Sverdlovskaya railroads, thus shortening the transport routes between the fields in the northern areas of Western Siberia and the seaports in the Baltic, White, Barents and Kara Seas.
