Gazprom and OMV address cooperation within Nord Stream 2

Berlin hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Rainer Seele, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of OMV.

The parties addressed further actions within the Nord Stream 2 project, particularly setting up of a joint venture to be responsible for the gas pipeline design, construction and operation. In addition, the meeting touched upon the acquisition of a stake in the joint venture by OMV.

OMV is a major partner of Gazprom in Austria.

On June 18, 2015 Gazprom, E.ON, Shell and OMV signed the Memorandum of Intent stipulating the construction of two strings of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline with an aggregate annual capacity of 55 billion cubic meters, to be laid from the Russian coast to the German coast via the Baltic Sea.
