Gazprom and Enel sign document on possible acquisition of Marcinelle Energie CCPP
Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Fulvio Conti, Chief Executive Officer of Enel signed today during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2013 a document contemplating possible acquisition of the Marcinelle Energie combined cycle power plant (CCPP).
The parties praised the progress with the talks on that deal and expressed their hope for completing all project agreements by year-end 2013, including a Purchase and Sale Agreement for a 100 per cent stake in the company owning the Marcinelle Energie CCPP.
Enel is the largest Italian energy company that runs its business in more than 40 countries worldwide. Enel is focused on power generation, gas and power distribution and sales.
The company pursues its strategic goal of wider utilizing the renewables and developing the eco-friendly power generating processes.
Enel's main generating and marketing assets are located in Europe, North and South America.
Marcinelle Energie is the Enel-owned combined cycle power plant located in Belgium and has a 415 MW capacity.
