Gazprom and Hitachi discuss sci-tech cooperation potential

The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Takashi Kawamura, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hitachi (Japan).

The meeting participants expressed confidence that interaction between Gazprom and Hitachi had great potential for deepening and discussed potential development of sci-tech cooperation between the two companies.

In particular, the parties considered an opportunity for Gazprom to utilize small-size LNG units produced by Hitachi.

Founded in 1910 Hitachi comprises over 1000 Japanese and foreign enterprises. The activity of Hitachi covers creation of the information analysis systems, largest industrial facilities in the energy sector (nuclear and combined heat power stations) and various appliances as well as development of advanced materials, steel and alloys.

Between 2010 and 2011 Gazprom and Hitachi cooperate to ensure UGS safety and study an opportunity for utilizing Japanese low-tonnage LNG units at the Company's facilities.

Hitachi has successful experience in delivering various equipment to Gazprom.
