“The joint programs in the personnel training and development area make it possible to establish closer ties with the business partners, as well as reinforce and develop the brain capital of our companies. Traveling seminars, educational videoconferencing and roundtable discussions have become an integral part of the cooperation between Gazprom and E.ON Ruhrgas. At the same time, there is still a lot of work to do – large-scale activities on adoption of new educational forms and methods, as well as on creation of an accessible educational information environment. Among the promising cooperation areas are short-term seminars on energy efficiency, submerged gas transmission systems operation, as well project and risk management. I am confident that all the joint plans of Gazprom and E.ON Ruhrgas will be successfully implemented, our cooperation spectrum will be expanded and our relations will preserve the spirit of open and mutually beneficial partnership,” said Sergey Khomyakov.

The interaction between Gazprom and E.ON Ruhrgas in the personnel development and sci-tech cooperation areas was initiated in 1990. During 20 years of partnership around 2,500 employees from both companies passed the educational programs elaborated by Gazprom and E.ON Ruhrgas.

Nowadays Gazprom and E.ON Ruhrgas are cooperating in four areas: workshop sessions, programs for young specialists, programs for engineers, as well as exchange and recreation programs for youth and children.

In 2006 the parties established the Coordinating Council on sci-tech cooperation, personnel training and development. The Council convenes meetings once or twice a year alternately in Russia and in Germany.
