During the negotiations the parties agreed on establishing joint working groups of experts to elaborate the possible scenarios of cooperation, as well as on compiling a Memorandum of Understanding between Gazprom and Petrobangla (Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation).

The major fields are located in the eastern districts of the country – Comilla and Sylhet.
Petrobangla is a state-owned monopoly in the oil and gas industry of Bangladesh.
