On Gazprom’s Regional Policy Commission meeting

An ordinary meeting of the Gazprom Regional Policy Commission has been held by Valery Golubev, the Head of the Commission and Deputy Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee.

The Commission discussed a set of compensatory and environmental actions targeted at securing the ecosystems of the Ob and Taz Bays and the Pechora Sea offshore.

The meeting particularly discussed measures related to zero discharge of drilling wastes and uncleansed waste waters into offshore areas; utilization of associated petroleum gas; creation of an oil spill prevention system, as well as other actions aimed at securing the environmental safety and conservation of the Pechora Sea natural environment.

It was emphasized that Gazprom was fully and timely implementing the Program for compensatory and environmental actions aimed at securing the ecosystems of the Ob and Taz Bays. Over 2002 to 2008 Gazprom allocated RUB 336.8 mln to execute the Program. At present, Gazprom jointly with the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Administration has developed the relevant draft Program for 2009–2013.

Following the meeting results the Gazprom core business units and subsidiaries were entrusted with the appropriate tasks.
