On joint meeting of Gazprom Emergencies Commission and Civil Defense Board

Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee has chaired at Gazprom’s Headquarters a joint meeting of the Gazprom Emergencies Commission and Civil Defense Board.

Attending the meeting was Alexander Taranov, Deputy Director of the Department for Emergencies Prevention with the Emergencies Ministry of Russia.

The meeting addressed issues surrounding the completion of work aimed at identifying the needed range, rational amount and deployment of material resources used to protect civilians and eliminate the consequences of accidents, catastrophes and natural disasters at Gazprom’s facilities.

The participants deliberated on measures aiming to ensure sustainable operation of Gazprom and its subsidiaries’ control points during peace and war time. In this regard, the meeting discussed industry approaches towards protecting Gazprom’s production infrastructure from industrial & environmental risks as well as terrorist occurrences.

The participants were informed of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s activity targeted at improving the legal and methodological base in the security enforcement area.

The participants unanimously agreed on the expediency of further promoting interaction between the Gazprom Emergencies Commission and Civil Defense Board, and the Emergencies Ministry of Russia.

By order of Sergey Shoygu, RF Minister for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Natural Disasters Alexander Taranov awarded Alexander Ananenkov with a Russian Emergencies Ministry’s badge “For Merits” for his considerable personal contribution into higher efficiency of civil defense measures and protection of Gazprom’s workforce and property from emergencies.
