Berlin hosts Album Presentation

The Russian Federation Embassy in Berlin hosted today a Presentation of the Golden Map of Russia. Masterpieces of the Russian Art Arts Album published by the State Tretyakov Picture Gallery in partnership with the Fatherland’s Treasures museum-supporting Foundation and with Gazprom’s financial backing.

Attending the ceremony were Reinier Zwitserloot, Chairman of Wintershall AG’s Board of Executive Directors, Yuri Komarov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee, Vladimir Kotenev, the Russian Federation Ambassador in Germany, Marina Elzesser, Deputy Director General of the State Tretyakov Picture Gallery as well as eminent public officials and politicians, representatives of Berlin’s largest museums and other cultural institutions.

Reinier Zwitserloot, Chairman of Wintershall AG’s Board of Executive Directors highly evaluated the companies’ joint businesses that had transformed over a long-lasting period into unique cooperation: “Leaning upon our business contacts – from technical cooperation and joint qualification upgrading & re-training programs up to cultural sharing between Russia and Germany, cooperation between our companies has become a unique example of the closest relationships among business counterparts.”

Yuri Komarov underscored that the long-lasting cooperation between Gazprom and Wintershall had gone beyond just merely gas business, smoothly expanding to cultural interaction: “Separate projects implemented over the last years have become an integrated program targeted at solidifying mutual understanding among our peoples via a dialogue between the German and Russian cultures. I’am positive that the Golden Map of Russia. Masterpieces of the Russian Art Album Presentation and donation to Germany’s museums, educational institutions and libraries will foster intensive cooperation with our German partners.”


The Golden Map of Russia. Masterpieces of the Russian Art Arts Album is part of the big Golden Map of Russia Exhibitional and Publishing Project by the Tretyakov Picture Gallery, awarded with the RF National Prize in 2003. Said Book is unparalleled among domestic and foreign arts editions and is unique for its collection of some 400 best works of the Russian fine arts and sculptures gathered by the State Tretyakov Picture Gallery and leading arts museums from 25 Russian regions. A range of images saw their first appearance in the Album.

The Album was first presented in Moscow and at the Frankfurt Book Fair, being a big success and receiving positive appraisal by Russian and foreign press agencies.

In addition, the Album was showcased in Leipzig and Vienna with the participation of VerbundnetzGas AG and OMV.

The Berlin Presentation was arranged by Gazprom in conjunction with its long-standing partner Wintershall AG and ZGG-Zarubezhgaz-Erdgashandel-Gesellschaft mbH, a 100% Gazexport subsidiary.
