The results of Alexey Miller and Vyacheslav Shtyrov’s working meeting

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Gazprom’s Management Committee Chairman, and Vyacheslav Shtyrov, President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), was held today at Gazprom’s headquarters.

The parties discussed the progress in implementing the Cooperation Agreement between Gazprom and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). In particular, the parties agreed to set up a joint venture for developing Yakutia’s hydrocarbon resources and for providing secure gas supplies to the city of Yakutsk. The project profitability and the safeguarding of the parties’ mutual interests are a prerequisite for establishing the joint venture.

A. Miller informed V. Shtyrov of the Gazprom-Rosneft-Syrgutneftegaz Consortium’s plans on developing hydrocarbon resources in Yakutia and East Siberia.

In March 2001, Gazprom and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) signed the Cooperation Agreement.

In October 2002, Gazprom and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) signed the Agreement to set up a joint legal entity.

Yakutia’s gas reserves are estimated at 2.3 tcm, inclusive 1.24 tcm of gas at the unique Chayandinskoye oil and gas condensate field.
