Employees of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz have joined a charity project meant to help healthcare institutions involved in the fight against COVID-19, and have transferred their personal funds to the account of the Hospital for Veterans of Wars in St. Petersburg. The collected amount of about RUB 5 million will be used to procure the required medical supplies and equipment.

The Hospital was among the first in St. Petersburg to be converted for coronavirus patients. In addition, a remodeled area of the Lenexpo Exhibition Complex was handed over to the Hospital to treat patients with mild cases of COVID-19.

“Our colleagues – employees of the regional subsidiaries of the Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Group based in Vladikavkaz, Ukhta, and Saratov – initiated the collection of funds for healthcare institutions amid the current epidemiological situation. We backed up this idea and joined the targeted assistance program in St. Petersburg. The employees filed applications, as a result of which certain amounts were withdrawn from their salaries and transferred to the Hospital for Veterans of Wars. We will continue supporting medical workers and healthcare institutions fighting the coronavirus. Our charity campaign will go on in other regions covered by the Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Group,” said Sergey Gustov, Director General of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz.

The Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Group is comprehensively responding to the current situation regarding the spread of the new coronavirus in the Russian Federation.

For instance, employees of Saratovgaz and Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye Saratov Region donated the collected funds for the construction of a new infectious diseases center in Saratov. The future center will have 400 beds, including 250 beds for children and 150 beds for adults.

As part of the charity campaign, employees of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Ukhta and Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye Syktyvkar donated RUB 5 million to the regional infectious diseases hospital to purchase personal protective equipment for the medical staff of the specialized COVID hospital.

In the face of the current coronavirus situation, employees of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Vladikavkaz and Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye Vladikavkaz provided financing from their personal funds and transferred more than RUB 2 million to the Trustee Fund for supporting medical workers in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.

The branch companies of Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye Lipetsk decided to render aid by distributing food packages among their retired employees who are single or whose children are outside the region. Members of the youth council of the united trade union organization of Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye Lipetsk also joined the volunteer activity. Moreover, gas workers are providing volunteer organizations with additional vehicles to help them fulfill the requests received via the national helpline.

A volunteer campaign was set up by gas workers in the Stavropol Territory. The volunteer team is composed of 340 members of the youth council of Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye Stavropol and Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Stavropol. The volunteers render necessary assistance to high-risk citizens: seniors, people with disabilities, people with chronic illnesses, and parents with small children.

The above is only a partial list of the initiatives and programs currently supported and implemented by the Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Group in the regions of the Russian Federation. These volunteer and charity projects and campaigns will continue.
