Congratulations from Surgutneftegaz

Esteemed Mr. Miller! Dear friends!

Director General of Surgutneftegaz Vladimir Bogdanov

Vladimir Bogdanov

I am very glad to congratulate you on such an important occasion in the Company’s life – the 20th anniversary of Gazprom Open Joint Stock Company.

Since the discovery of enormous gas reserves in the 1970s and 1980s, the gas industry has been one of the main pillars of the Russian economy, determining to a large extent the industrial sector development and ensuring energy security of our country. Gazprom, which possesses the world’s longest gas transmission system, is rightfully considered a major player of the gas market both in Russia and abroad.

The global status of the largest vertically integrated Russian company is proved out by the world’s highest production rates and feedstock reserves.

Selfless work, exceptional professionalism, vigor and determination of hundreds of thousands of gas workers continue to ensure success in solving tasks allotted to your Company on the national level. These tasks include implementing major gas development projects in the extreme conditions of the Arctic shelf, Yamal and Eastern Siberia, constructing gas trunklines to Europe and Asia as well as securing maximum gasification of Russian regions. I am sure that a sensible approach, high responsibility and dedication to the chosen undertaking, active use of cutting-edge technologies and latest scientific developments will provide for putting these ambitious plans into life.

Your commitment to the principles of hard work for the social benefit is of special note. Over the entire glorious history of its existence Gazprom has been paying special attention to the issues of environmental safety and socially-oriented programs consistently supporting cultural and sports trends, contributing to creative and physical development of the younger generation.

Your Company possesses a powerful production basis, rich practices, broad horizons for further development and well-being. All this is, undoubtedly, a prerequisite for Gazprom’s successful future as a strategically important company on a nationwide scale.

Let the anniversary year become a year of new significant achievements for your employees. I wish you good health, well-being and fruitful activity for the benefit of Russia.
