Leonid Chernoschekov

Leonid Chernoschekov was born on November 15, 1950 in Krivoy Rog, Dnepropetrovsk Oblast.

A graduate of the Krivoy Rog Mining Institute (1973), Leonid Chernoschekov dedicated his entire professional life to the gas industry. His professional formation started in the teams of the Sredaztransgaz Production Association and Tyumentransgaz. From 2002 L.Chernoschekov has been in charge of Gazprom transgaz Saratov (former Yugtransgaz).

Corresponding Member of the Academy of Technological Sciences of the Russian Federation, Cand. Sc. degree holder, Excellent Worker of the Gas Industry, Honorary Worker of the Gas Industry, Honorary Worker of the Fuel and Energy Complex, Merited Economist of the Russian Federation. He has been awarded the medal For the Natural Resources Exploitation and Oil & Gas Industry Development in Western Siberia.

Company History

The company’s history originates from the years of the Great Patriotic War – in October 1942 natural gas was delivered from the Elshanskoye field to the Saratov power plant via a 16-km-long gas pipeline.

In 1944 construction of the first national gas trunkline Saratov – Moscow was initiated. Exactly this gas trunkline gave rise to the Russian gas industry development.

Starting from the launch of the unique Central Asia – Center gas transportation system (some 9,000 km) in 1967, Saratov actually turned into a gas distribution center. At present, Gazprom transgaz Saratov is dealing with transportation of gas produced in the Orenburg and Tyumen Oblasts, Turkmenia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to central Russia, North Caucasus, Ukraine and European countries.

Major Activities

Gazprom transgaz Saratov major activities involve:

  • natural gas transportation via gas trunklines;
  • gas supply to consumers via gas distribution stations;
  • gas transportation systems development and operation;
  • CNG filling network creation.

Gazprom transgaz Saratov services over 7,000 km of gas trunklines and laterals, six CNG filling stations, owns 11 line pipe operation centers, 37 compressor workshops, 228 gas pumping facilities exceeding 1.6 million kW in total capacity.

212 gas distribution stations of Gazprom transgaz Saratov supply gas to consumers of the Saratov and partly to the Tambov and Penza Oblasts.

Environmental Protection

The environmental service of Gazprom transgaz Saratov comprises the environmental protection division, the environmental protection laboratory of the Engineering Center and environmental services of subsidiary companies.

The environmental protection laboratory is equipped with the most advanced devices and applies state-of-the-art techniques of the industrial environmental control.

The Engineering Center supplies the subsidiary companies with design and regulatory documentation meeting the legal environmental requirements, analytical monitoring data for water, air and soil.

Based on the operational highlights for 2007 Gazprom transgaz Saratov was admitted the leading company of the Saratov fuel and energy complex in terms of environmental safety.

Social policy

Gazprom transgaz Saratov is actively developing all aspects of its employees’ social life. The company got on the Honors Board of the Saratov Oblast for the merits in promoting the social, financial and cultural areas.

Medical institutions of Gazprom transgaz Saratov service almost 8 thousand company employees, and, taking into account their family members and retired pensioners this figure amounts to above 14 thousand.

Sports activities represent a development target in implementing the company’s social programs. Gazprom transgaz Saratov has created an excellent sports base including a football ground with artificial covering, well-furnished gym, volleyball and basketball grounds.

Within the Gazprom to Children program the company constructed sports facilities in 11 population centers of the Saratov, Penza and Tambov Oblasts. These include a stadium, a sports and cultural center, health and recreation centers, residential sports- and playgrounds, hockey courts.

Prospects

The further development prospects for Gazprom transgaz Saratov are linked to gas supply increase via the Central Asia – Center gas transmission system and the Precaspian gas pipeline construction.

Additionally, the company proceeds with implementing the program for gas supply to the cities, towns and settlements of the Saratov and Tambov Oblasts.
