The last stage of the offshore Baltic Nord Stream Race has finished on October 26, 2012. Taking part in the race were five teams – from Russia, the European Union, France, Germany and the Netherlands. According to the results of the Race, the Russian team led by Vladimir Lyubomirov, Commodore of the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club on the Bronenosets yacht won the first prize. The team is sponsored by Gazprom Group.
Alexey Miller: Avangard Hockey Academy will considerably enhance training possibilities for the national team reserve squad
Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Viktor Nazarov, Governor of the Omsk Region took on October 24, 2012 in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Avangard Hockey Academy sports complex in Omsk.
“In May we promised that in the nearest future Gazprom would start the construction of several sports complexes in Omsk. We keep our promise. Our first step is the start of the Avangard Hockey Academy construction,” Alexey Miller said.
On May 2012, prior to Victory Day two children’s and youth tournaments took place in Orenburg. The sports events were dedicated to veterans of the national gas industry, former heads of Orenburggazprom: a football competition was held in memory of Vasily Nikolaev and a judo competition – Yury Vysheslavtsev, Hero of Socialist Labor. Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg organized the tournaments.
The Fakel stadium hosted matches between 12 sports teams from the Orenburg and Samara Oblasts, Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan.
Gazprom Torch table tennis club (Orenburg) has become the champion of Russia for the fifth time.
On April 28, 2012 Yekaterinburg hosted the final round of the national championship among men's table tennis teams. Russia's top eight clubs of the Premiere League fought for medals.
The Orenburg club took a lead during the eight-month national table tennis “marathon”. Finally, they confirmed their title of Russia's best table tennis club by winning the 2 points required defeat the Urals Mining & Metallurgical Company team from Verkhnaya Pyshma, Sverdlovsk Oblast.
Between April 5 and 8 , 2012 the Ice Arena of Rostoshi settlement (Orenburg) hosted the All-Russian Ice Hockey Tournament for the prizes of Anatoly Zibarev – Hero of Socialist Labor, veteran of the gas industry. The tournament was arranged by Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg as part of the Gazprom for Children program.
Taking part in the games were more than 100 children born in 2000 and representing 6 teams from Yekaterinburg, Orenburg, Perm, Samara, Ufa and Novosergievka regional center in the Orenburg Oblast.
The capital of the Czech Republic hosted the European Karate Cup in the beginning of April 2012. Ivan Kiryanov, member of the Russian national team from Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol Shotokan Club became the winner in the team tournaments. The sportsman had a clear lead and won every fight bringing the national team on top – as a result, the Russian team took the first place.
Novy Urengoy hosted the 3rd final round of the Russian Snowcross Championship and the National Snowcross Competition between April 7 and 8, 2012.
50 snowmobile racers came from Kirov, Megion, Nadym, Nefteyugansk, Novy Urengoy, Samara, Saint Petersburg, Strezhevoy, Surgut, Tyumen and Yaroslavl to take part in the final tournaments.
On April 7, 2012 the Pangody settlement hosted the Gazprom Dobycha Nadym Cup Car Racing Competitions. The competitions were held in T1 class comprising 4x4 four-wheeled off-road vehicles produced in Russia and having the engine size of up to 3,000 cubic centimeters as well as in A-1600 class made up of front-drive cars with the engine size of up to 1,600 cubic centimeters.
9th Adult Winter Spartakiada Games and 4th Children’s Winter Spartakiada Games of Gazprom opened in Yekaterinburg
In February 2012 Yekaterinburg hosted a festive opening of the 9th Adult Winter Spartakiada Games and the 4th Children’s Winter Spartakiada Games of Gazprom. The event brought together 24 adult and 13 children’s teams from Gazprom’s subsidiaries.
