Supporting Culture and Sports
The Company’s employees are the most important resource of Gazprom. The Company is striving to offer them every opportunity both for professional and personal development, while taking into account the spiritual and physical aspects.As part of cooperation with Russian and foreign partners, Gazprom implements the cultural and charitable projects aimed at supporting creative teams, actors, musicians and artists, as well as developing and strengthening international cultural ties. The Company pays special attention to the children in need of social support.
Starting from 2003, the Fakel Festival, a contest of amateur artistic clubs and performers, has been held on a regular basis. Participating in the Festival are employees of Gazprom’s subsidiary companies. In order to keep themselves perfectly fit, Gazprom’s staff members take part in sports competitions. The Company regularly holds the Spartakiada Games, where the participants can display their achievements in a variety of sports including volleyball, table tennis, swimming and running. International football tournaments among European gas companies have become a fine tradition.
Those who think they have a writer’s talent may take part in the Fakel Literature Festival held by Gazprom. This contest dates back to 2003 when the first literary and publicist almanac was printed by the Gasoil Press publishing house. The contestants depict all the aspects of a contemporary man’s spiritual life.
For those who want to learn new knowledge and improve their professional skills, Gazprom, in cooperation with foreign gas companies, set up in 2001 the Energy Delta Institute. The employees of Gazprom, Shell, Gasunie and other companies studying at the Institute take a whole range of field-specific training programs in the Netherlands.
