Gazprom and representatives of Russian regions discuss cooperation prospects


The Gazprom headquarters hosted today an annual meeting with heads of the Russian Federation constituents’ permanent missions to the Russian President and Government.

Taking part in the meeting were Viktor Ilyushin, Member of the Gazprom Management Committee – Head of the Department for Relations with the Russian Federation Authorities, heads of the permanent missions from 27 constituents of the Russian Federation as well as top executives from Gazprom’s structural units and subsidiaries. The meeting was attended by the heads of the permanent missions who had been in office for less than a year.

The meeting participants considered the issues relevant to the prospects for the Russian gas industry development, assurance of reliable gas supplies to Russian consumers by Gazprom, cooperation between the Company and Russian regions as part of the efforts on hydrocarbons development in the Yamal Peninsula, Eastern Siberia, the Far East and on the Arctic shelf.

Special attention was paid to gas supplies and gasification of Russian regions. For instance, the meeting discussed the procedure for involvement of new assets in Gazprom’s Gasification Program on the initiative by regional authorities. It was underlined that the investments were allocated as part of the Gasification Program with due consideration for the regions’ obligations on consumer preparation for gas supplies as well as the payment discipline.

After the meeting the heads of the Russian Federation constituents’ permanent missions visited the Central Operations and Dispatch Department of Gazprom.

As of May 1, 2011 Gazprom has signed Cooperation Agreements with 81 Russian constituents.

Gazprom supplies natural gas to 67 Russian regions.

The Company takes large-scale efforts to build up gas supplies to Russian regions. Between 2005 and 2010 Gazprom allocated more than RUB 115 billion for the Gasification Program execution. The funds were used to construct 1,048 inter-settlement gas pipelines with the total length exceeding 16 thousand kilometers.

In 2011 the Company is going to invest RUB 25 billion in gasification of Russian regions.
