On working meeting of Alexey Miller, Constantin Grigorie, Ioan Rusu and Francisc Toth
The Gazprom Headquarters hosted today a working meeting of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee, Constantin Grigorie, Romanian Ambassador to Russia, Ioan Rusu, Director General of Transgaz S.A. and Francisc Toth, Director General of Romgaz S.A.
The parties discussed a wide spectrum of issues in the cooperation area, emphasizing particularly the execution of contracts for gas supply from Russia to Romania, which had been previously extended until 2030.
The meeting considered interaction prospects in underground gas storage, as well as development of the existing and creation of new transit capacities.
To specify the issues touched upon at the Moscow meeting Gazprom’s delegation led byVlada Rusakova, Member of the Management Committee – Head of the Strategic Development Department is going to pay a visit to Romania in the near future.
Natural gas plays a leading role in the Romanian structure of fuel and energy resources consumption – it makes up 36.4 per cent of the total consumption.
Russia has supplied natural gas to Romania since 1979.
In 2007 Gazprom export supplied the country with 3.93 bcm of gas.
Russian gas is exported to Romania pursuant to two existing contracts (effective until 2030) signed with Conef Energy and WIEE.
