On working meeting between Alexey Miller and Alexander Mikhailov
The Gazprom Headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Alexander Mikhailov, Governor of the Kursk Oblast.
The parties reviewed the progress in implementing the Agreement of Cooperation and the Gasification Accord and highly evaluated the mutual efforts taken.
It was noted that the Oblast Administration fully performed its obligations related to the construction of gas distribution networks and gasification of households.
Alexey Miller and Alexander Mikhailov discussed further steps towards the gasification of the region to be taken between 2009 and 2010. They made a decision to maintain the existing funding level for the construction of inter-settlement gas pipelines in the Kursk Oblast.
The Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Kursk Oblast was signed on December 20, 2002, the Gasification Accord – on March 1, 2007.
In 2007 Gazprom supplied the Oblast consumers with approximately 1.9 bcm of gas. Roughly the same volumes are slated for the current year.
The Kursk Oblast consumers have no gas arrears. As of October 1, 2008 advance payments accounted for over RUB 58 mln.
Natural gas penetration in the Oblast totals 64.4 per cent, including 80.8 per cent in cities & towns and 39 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia average 62, 67 and 44 per cent respectively.
During 2002–2007 Gazprom invested circa RUB 1.9 bln in the construction of the gasification facilities in the Kursk Oblast.
In 2008 Gazprom plans to invest RUB 900 mln for these purposes. The Kursk Oblast Administration, on its part, allocated RUB 626.5 mln to construct 330 km of gas distribution pipelines and to prepare 29 boiler houses and 2,839 households for gas deliveries.
