Director General

Alexey Golubnichiy – Director General of Gazprom transgaz Moscow.

A. Golubnichiy was born on December 11, 1962 in Moscow. He graduated with honors from Moscow State Institute of International Relations. He has been working for a long time in the headquarters and foreign missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.

From 1993 A. Golubnichiy has held leading positions in several oil companies: a Deputy Director General of EniseyNeft (1993-1995), Vice President of Rosinvestneft (1995-1998), Commercial Director of Batumi Oil Terminal (1998-2000). For two years he has been a Vice President of Investment Projects and Programs Center.

Since July 8, 2002 – Director General of Mostransgaz, and since March 1, 2008 after the renaming of the Company – Director General of Gazprom transgaz Moscow.

History

Gazprom transgaz Moscow was the first company in Russia to start long-distance gas transmission.

On July 11, 1946 gas from Saratov fields came to Moscow. On July 25, 1946 the Head of Glavgaztopprom under the Council of Ministers of the USSR ordered to reorganize the director’s office of the constructed Saratov - Moscow gas pipeline into the Gas Pipeline Operation Directorate. This date is considered to be a birthday of Gazprom transgaz Moscow.

In 1956, after the completion of the Stavropol – Moscow multi-line gas main system construction, the Unified Gas Supply System (UGSS) of Russia was launched.

In 1966 the Company was awarded with the Order of Lenin (the highest state award at that time) for outstanding performance.

Today Gazprom transgaz Moscow is a largest gas transmission unit of Gazprom and a major part of the Russia’s UGSS, providing for  timely and regular natural gas supplies to the customers of 14 constituent entities of European Russia, including Moscow, as well as domestic market supplies, transit to the FSU and other countries. The total number of employees is 13.5 thousand.

Main activities

Gazprom transgaz Moscow transmits gas via 724 gas distribution stations (1/3 of all the Gazprom’s gas distribution stations (GDS)) and dispatching control stations to 400 Russian cities and towns, thousands of villages and settlements. The Company operates over 21 thousand km of gas mains and pipe-bends, 275 gas compressor units (GCU) in 47 compressor rooms with a total rated capacity of GCU  – 2760 MW, 34 CNG refuelling stations. The amount of gas transmitted by the Company totals almost 300 bcm per year.

Main pipelines operated by the Company are: Urengoy – Uzhgorod, Central Asia – Center, North Caucasus – Center, Yamburg – Tula 2, Circular gas pipeline of the Moscow Oblast, Tula –Torzhok, Petrovsk – Yelets, Yelets – Kursk – Kiev, Yelets– Kursk – Dikanka, Tula – Shostka – Kiev, Shebelinka – Belgorod – Kursk – Bryansk,  Dashava – Kiev – Bryansk – Moscow, Saratov – Moscow, Gorkiy – Center.

In line with its main activity area the Company performs:

– Exploitation, maintenance and construction of gas mains, facilities and installations of a gas transmission system.

– Retrofitting and upgrading of equipment.

– Research and engineering development.

– Capital construction of new facilities for production and other purposes.

Between 2005 and 2007  the Company constructed 2 brand-new compressor stations (CS): Volokolamskaya (Moscow Oblast) and Kamensk – Shakhtinskaya (Rostov Oblast), 2 compressor rooms at the Tuma CS and Kasimovskoye Underground Gas Storage (UGS). SohranovkaCS – Oktyabrskaya CS, Kasimovskoye UGS – Voskresensk CS gas mains are commissioned. Besides, 730 km of gas mains and pipe-bends, as well as 11 GDS are reconstructed and newly built.

Environmental protection

Gazprom transgaz Moscow controls the level of operating facilities impact on the environment, undertakes industrial and ecological monitoring, as well as an overhaul and maintenance of technological nature conservation facilities. All operational activities of the Company are implemented in compliance with environmental regulations.

Recent years emissions stay within the permissible limits and correspond to executed transportation operations.

State nature conservation authorities regularly conduct environmental control over the activities of the Company’s production subsidiaries.

A priority near future task for Gazprom transgaz Moscow has been improving industrial ecological monitoring and control over the compliance of the nature conservation regulations. 

Social policy

Gazprom transgaz Moscow traditionally contributes a lot to a social policy. The Company comprises 2 sanatoriums, 3 recreation centers, a children’s health center, which are located in Central Russia and on the Black Sea coast, as well as a modern diagnostics and rehabilitation center. The Company’s employees are trained on a regular basis at Zimenki and Pervomaisky training and production facilities.

Between 2001 and 2007 the Company won five prizes of the All-Russian Contest ‘Russian Organisation of High Social Efficiency’. In 2001 the Company got a prize nominated ‘Organising Team Cultural and Educational Activities’, in 2002  – for the best organising sanatorium-resort therapy, in 2004 – for the best employees’ medical care, in 2005 – a sector-specific prize nominated ‘Gas Industry’, in 2006 – a prize nominated ‘Staff skills, training & development system’ (3rd degree diploma).

Since 2007 the Company participates in the Gazprom to Children program implementation. 14 hockey areas and football grounds in different regions have already been built. The foundation of 2 sports and recreation complexes in the Kaluga and Kursk Oblasts has been laid. The construction of sports and recreation complex in the Bryansk Oblast is to be completed soon.

The employees of Gazprom transgaz Moscow and their families actively participate in industry-related spartakiada games and festivals. Art groups have repeatedly won prizes of Fakel Festival. The Company’s sport team once became the winner and twice got the second place at Gazprom summer spartakiada games. In 2007 Gazprom transgaz Moscow became an organizer of the 2nd Children’s and 7th Adult Gazprom Spartakiada Games in Belgorod. The sports forum united over 600 children and circa 2000 adults from 27 teams. The Company children’s team took the 1st place and the adult team – the 2nd place, having lost only 1 point to the winners.

Future Prospects

The Company acts in compliance with the long-term development plans. From 2008 to 2010 the Company will continue to implement the Gasification Program for the RF regions, envisaging new pipe-bends and GDS construction, as well as the reconstruction and overhaul of existing gas transmission facilities and equipment.

In the nearest future the Company projects to overhaul 45 km of gas pipelines, 90 km of pipe isolation, the additional tests of 85km of linear pipelines as well as the in-line inspection of almost 2000 km of gas mains. Long-term prospects include the comprehensive assessment and technical condition forecast of 1500 km of gas pipelines and 12 technological barriers, complex overhaul of 7 GDSs and 20 GPUs.
