Our Mission
The mission of Gazprom is to ensure an efficient and balanced gas supply to consumers in the Russian Federation and fulfill its long-term contracts on gas export at a high level of reliability.
Domestic Gas Market
Domestic gas sales of Gazprom Group of companies totaled 316.3 bcm in 2006.
In 2006 domestic gas market was functioning in two sectors: regulated and non-regulated. Gazprom was the only supplier of natural gas to the regulated sector.
In cooperating with state authorities to work out a gas market development strategy Gazprom supports a step-by-step reduction of the regulated sector and expansion of the non-regulated one.
Gas Distribution
Marketing strategy of Gazprom envisages getting to the ultimate consumer step-by-step, which means the Group’s entering the gas distribution business. Consolidation of gas distribution assets and gasification of new areas guarantee the achievement of goals with regard to ensuring reliable supplies to the Russian consumers and provides Gazprom with competitive advantages within the liberalized natural gas market.
Gasification
The ongoing implementation of the gasification program of the Russian regions envisages the construction of more than 12,000 km of gas distribution pipelines in the period from 2005 through 2007.
The gasification project enjoys support of the Russian Federation Government and is one of the top-priority national projects in terms of strategic importance.
The Program execution will increase the number of gasified apartments and households by 15%. Natural gas will flow into the houses of further 13 mln Russians. To implement the Program Gazprom will commit RUR 43 bln in 2005-2007.
