Gazprom wishes to warn the public against transactions with unscrupulous market players, which disseminate fictitious commercial proposals for petroleum products sales from Internet websites and via e-mail purportedly on behalf of Gazprom or its affiliated companies.
Please be aware that Gazprom Group companies send business e-mails only via corporate mail servers and never use free e-mail services.
Gazprom and its subsidiary companies do not establish business relations and do not offer guarantees of goods delivery in absentia, via Internet or e-mail.
Gazprom exclusively exports its petrochemical products through its subsidiaries – Gazprom export and Gazprom neft, which bypass any intermediaries when concluding contracts. Official information about the activities of Gazprom export and Gazprom neft is available on the websites and .
Likewise, the Company doesn’t make a request to register future contracts at various ministries and entities of the Russian Federation as the Russian legislation doesn’t provide for such a procedure.
Gazprom reserves the right to take legal action in order to terminate fraudulent actions by unscrupulous market players.
Recommendations on identification of typical fraud schemes
Gazprom warns you about the attempts to use its name, the names of its structural units or officials for fraudulent purposes.
To prevent possible property damage and loss of personal data, we recommend you to pay attention to the following signs of a fraudulent action involved:
1. You receive email proposals to acquire petroleum products from Gazprom or its subsidiary companies. The email may include a draft contract or a template of an Irrevocable Corporate Purchase Order (ICPO) together with a bank reference as an attachment.
Gazprom and its subsidiary companies do not undertake mailing of such proposals or offer guarantees of goods delivery in absentia, via Internet or email, and do not authorize other persons to do that.
2. The details of the transaction differ greatly from the market-based ones: you are offered to buy very large amounts of petroleum products (sometimes even more than Gazprom is actually capable of providing) at an exceptionally favorable price.
3. Prior to formal signing of a contract, you are requested to transfer money purportedly for the payment of some sort of services, for instance, drawing up of various documents (visas, invitations, approvals), legalization or validation of the contract in Russian authorities and ministries (attention: such procedure is not provided for by the Russian legislation), payment of transportation fees and services related to arranging the visit of your company’s delegation to Russia as if for a meeting at the Gazprom headquarters where a contract has to be signed (Table Talk Meeting – TTM), etc.
4. To transfer the money, the frauds offer an account held in the name of an individual.
Please, be informed that Gazprom does not conclude direct agreements for the export of petroleum products, which is carried out by two subsidiaries – Gazprom export and Gazprom neft. Official information about their activities and their contacts are available on the websites and respectively.
