UNDERGROUND RESERVOIR SHAPING CONTROL UNIT

Underground reservoir shaping control unit

 

- Real-time information on working media level in an underground reservoir.

- Measurements are carried out without shutting down the technological cycle.

- Stationary position of the measuring blocks in technological column.

- Control over dynamics of the development of working - reservoir with correction of technological parameters of the structure, computerized processing of the data.

Reservoir shaping process is controlled by regular change of active washing-out zone through adjustment of the brine - nonsolvent interface level.

The device is designed in block arrangement and includes the following elements:

Surface block carries out registration and processing of the data received.

The device ensures distance measuring in the range of 0.5 - 50 meters with relative error of 1%. The downhole block and communication line assume long-term operation in specific conditions of underground reservoirs; the device remains functional in ambient temperature as high as +60 °C and under hydrostatic pressure up to 15.0 MPa.

The device is a fragment of "a casing pipe - enclosing rock" system made in the 1:40 scale; it is intended for rock circular sample testing under tri-axial adjustable compression with simultaneous gas blowing.

 

Main technical parameters:

Maximum standardization of the device assumes its usage with the loading system of the UIPK-1 m serial unit.

The design of the device allows simulating sand recovery conditions in a well drilled in an unstable reservoir with abnormally high reservoir pressure.

 

 

IMPULSE ELECTROMAGNETIC LEVEL GAUGE

High-precision multi-channel electromagnetic level gauge

 

High-precision multi-channel electromagnetic level gauge is designed for dynamic registration of the level of gas - water interface or two and more liquid media with different parameters of electromagnetic signal propagation (with different dielectric constants), for example, water solution - petroleum product interface.

OPERATING PRINCIPLES:

Operating principles are based on media sounding with the help of narrow electromagnetic pulses propagating along transmission line which is in electromagnetic connection with environment; the line is placed in the reservoir under control. Sounding is carried out through sending pulses of nanosecond duration into the line followed by measurement and analysis of characteristics of the pulses reflected from irregularities brought about by the changes in parameters of surrounding environment. Accurate measurement of the time lag of pulse reflection from the media interface is carried out through the use of mathematical treatment algorithm optimized for specific operating conditions of the device. Display of the data on absolute level or relative change in position of the media interface is realized in graphical and analytic form convenient for an operator, in line with indication of the measurement channel number (number of reservoir, tank), date and time of the measurement. In automatic regime, the device carries out step-by-step measurements of level in a number of reservoirs (measurement channels used) with pre-set intervals and automatic registration of the results; the results may be displayed both in graphic and analytic form characterizing the dynamics of level alterations.

The device includes a transmission line, which is in electromagnetic contact with surrounding medium and located in operating space (reservoir, tank), a measurement unit connected with transmission line through coaxial cable, and PC-based control desk servicing one or more measurement channels.

Specifications:

Level measurement range: 0 - 150 m.

Maximum distance between the measurement block and measurement line (measurement zone): up to 1,000 m.

Relative error in measurements of media interface position (level) - 2-5 cm, depending on the type of medium and the distance to measurement zone.

Maximum distance between the control desk and measuring block is up to 1,000 m. Data transfer is carried out through the RS-232 standard interface.

Design mean time between failures of the measuring block is not less than 10,000 hours.

Overall dimensions of the measurement block with a built1in pulse generator - 165x180x400 mm. As may be agreed with a customer, the measuring block may be enclosed in airtight thermostatic container, which maintains operating temperature of the block in the range of -50 - +40 °C, with air relative humidity up to 100 %, and is resistant to climatic influences.

Power supply of the system is from 220 V ac mains or 12 - 14 V dc transformer. Maximum power intake is not more than 100 W.

The UV 250 cutting-out device with P-400 reamer ensures low-cost extension of service life of wells in underground storage facilities. The device is intended for cutting out sections of casing pipes followed by the hole reaming in the process of well work over at underground storage facilities in rock salt.

The KOU 219/146-21 wellhead surface-controlled cutoff valve is designed to prevent gas blowouts in emergency in technological wells by way of automatic shutting off the pipe space of flow string.

Application:

Main technical characteristics

The unit is intended for evaluation of technical condition of wells and underground storages, as well as for evaluation of cementing quality in the process of contaminated radioactive brine solidification, when underground reservoirs are being shutted-in. A pilot device has been developed on the basis of serial geophysical equipment intended to ensure running1in and lifting of TV- unit with the help of logging cable.

 

 

JET COUNTERFLOW DEVICE

Jet counterflow device ASP

 

The ASP jet counterflow device helps to reduce construction time and improve underground storage architecture.

The ASP device is intended to intensify the process of underground storage formation and shaping in rock salt. It extends the brine-mixing zone and at the same time prevents penetration of submineralized solvent to the ceiling of underground chamber; as a result, technological consumption of nonsolvent is reduced significantly or eliminated completely.

BRINE PARAMETERS AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEM

IKAR-K05 automatic control system

 

The IKAR-K05 automatic control system is for continuous measuring of the brine parameters:

- temperature
- pressure
- concentration
- brine consumption

It may be used for measuring of the above parameters with pre-set discreteness in the brine flow in the process of underground storage construction in rock salt deposits, in particular, when five underground storages are under construction simultaneously.

Measuring block of the system may be installed at a distance of 4,000 m from secondary sensors.

The purposefully developed software ensures real time calculation of volume of the storage and the data display in graphical form.

Automatic system measuring range:

- Temperature: 5 - 36 °C.
- Specific electric conductivity: 1 - 25 Cm/m.
- Excessive pressure: 0 - 2.5 MPa.
- Concentration (for two measurement ranges): wide / narrow: 5 - 317 / 240 - 317 g/p.

The packer ensures long service life and reliability of underground storage technological well operation.

The PGS 219 packer is intended for partitioning the interstring space between the main casing string and flow string so that to provide protection of the main casing string.
