Pavlovskaya Raketka tournament takes place in Orenburg Region

As part of the Gazprom for Children program, the 9th Pavlovskaya Raketka Children and Youth Table Tennis Tournament for the prizes of Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg took place on March 28 in the Helios sports complex of Pavlovka settlement, Orenburg District, Orenburg Region.
Taking part in the competition were 140 young athletes from 7 to 18 years old from towns and villages of the Region. Trainees of the sports school under the Russian Table Tennis Center and Children and Youth Sports School No. 3 represented Orenburg at the Tournament.
Six sets of prizes were competed for at twelve tennis tables. The tournament gold was won by the trainees of the Russian Table Tennis Center – Ilya Babichev, Anastasia Kartashova, Stanislav Valov, Ekaterina Fadeeva, Sergey Varfolomeev and a young athlete from the Sol-Iletsk Dictrict Asemgul Abyzova.
Stepan Chekanin from Orenburg and Diana Tlegenova from Sol-Iletsk were awarded special prizes For Will to Win.
Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, mainly focused on production, treatment and transmission of hydrocarbon feedstock. The company comprises ten structural units, including Europe’s largest gas processing plant as well as the only helium plant in Russia.

The Pavlovskaya Raketka Children and Youth Table Tennis Tournament for the prizes of Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg has been held since 2006 in Pavlovka settlement of the Orenburg Region. In 2001 the competition ‘moved’ from the local lyceum to the Helios sports complex constructed under the Gazprom for Children program.
