On April 8 Astrakhan hosted the opening of the Days of Spain in Russia. Along with Moscow and Saint Petersburg, the Caspian capital welcomes guests from the flamenco native country.

The schedule of the cultural events embraces over half a year and includes a photographic art exhibition by Spanish artists, the Week of Spanish Movies festival, performances by flamenco dancers and concerts by folk creative teams. The concert by Spanish pop stars to be held on the concert platform of the Volga River embankment on Gas Worker’s Day will be the key event. Admission to all events is free of charge.

Gazprom dobycha Astrakhan was the major partner for the Russian-Spanish events. In the year of its 30th anniversary Gazprom dobycha Astrakhan undertook the arrangement, the technical and information support of the events.

The joint Russian-Spanish statement on preparations for the Year of Russia in Spain and the Year of Spain in Russia planned for 2011 was signed in spring 2010.

Background

Gazprom dobycha Astrakhan is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom. The Astrakhan gas complex is focused on gas and gas condensate extraction from the Astrakhan gas and condensate field, their processing and production of marketable products.

On October 5, 2011 Gazprom dobycha Astrakhan will celebrate its 30th anniversary.
