Pyotr Sozonov is Director General of Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk.
He was born in 1963 in the Tyumen Region.
He graduated from Tyumen Industrial Institute, majoring in Design and Operation of Gas and Oil Pipelines, Gas and Oil Storage Facilities and Oil Tank Farms. He also has an MBA degree from the International Management Institute of St. Petersburg.
Pyotr Sozonov has been employed with Gazprom for 27 years.

Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk is Gazprom’s largest gas transmission subsidiary.
Established on January 17, 1966, the company runs its business in three constituent entities of the Russian Federation (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra, and Sverdlovsk Region), conveying gas from the north of Western Siberia (Medvezhye, Urengoyskoye, Yamburgskoye, Zapolyarnoye and other fields) to consumers in European Russia, the former Soviet Union, and beyond.
The total length of the company’s single-string gas trunklines is 27,000 kilometers. The gas transmission system of Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk pumps more than 1 billion cubic meters of gas per day and up to 1.5 billion during peak periods.
Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk is an extensive social and industrial complex comprising 41 branches, including 26 gas pipeline operation centers.
The company operates and maintains gas trunklines with a diameter of 1,020 to 1,420 millimeters, 221 compressor shops, and 1,171 gas compressor units with a total installed capacity of 15,700 MW.
Supplying consumers with planned amounts of natural gas is the main goal of Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk. The company pays great attention to improving the reliability and efficiency of gas transmission operations by adopting up-to-date and energy-efficient solutions, overhauling linear sections of gas pipelines, and reconstructing, upgrading and restoring capacities at compressor stations.
