Gazprom Transgaz Kazan is active in promoting the use of advanced resource- and energy-saving technologies and equipment that will cause no harm to the environment. This, first of all, relates to the conversion of motor vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG). The project has received various prizes at Russian and international forums and exhibitions.
More than 60 per cent of Gazprom Transgaz Kazan’s vehicles have already been converted to natural gas. Many industrial enterprises of Tatarstan have already studied the economic benefit of natural gas utilization as motor fuel and started adopting compressed gas vehicles in their car fleets.
By now, there are nine commissioned CNG filling stations in the Republic, which are located in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Mamadysh, Almetyevsk, Bugulma and Shemordan. A new CNG filling station is to be constructed in Buinsk. Being a part of Russia’s input into the “Blue Corridor” international project, CNG filling stations even now make it possible to fill transit cars in an uninterrupted mode.
