Gas-Oil was set up in 1992 in the Kaliningrad Region to advance Gazprom’s economic interests, as well as to draw up and adopt the Gas and Energy Development Program for the Baltic Region.
With all the necessary material and human resources at hand, the company meets Gazprom Group’s current and potential challenges in the region of its operation.
In 2007, the company became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom.
In 2011, the Gas-Oil Closed Joint Stock Company was restructured into the Gas-Oil Limited Liability Company.
In 2014, the company moved its headquarters to Moscow, with its branch office left in Kaliningrad.
Geography of Gas-Oil’s operations
Gas-Oil transports stable gas condensate from the Portovaya CS to the domestic and foreign markets. The company has built a specialized fleet for transportation purposes. The project is being implemented by the company with the involvement of Gas-Oil Trans Baltika, its subsidiary company.
Specialized motor vehicles for stable gas condensate transportation
Gas-Oil organizes the construction of infrastructure facilities for the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta gas trunkline system, namely the intermediate on-site storage facilities for petroleum products (diesel fuel and jet kerosene) used for the operation of Usinskaya CS-5, Intinskaya CS-6, Syninskaya CS-7, Chikshinskaya CS-8, and Maloperanskaya CS-9. Gas-Oil was assigned as a general designer and general contractor to deliver the full range of services, namely design, construction, and installation of process equipment, as well as commissioning and start-up of fully built facilities.

Since 2007, Gas-Oil has been dealing with issues related to natural gas liquefaction and the development of the LNG consumption infrastructure. The company’s technical and scientific expertise and experience in project implementation have gained recognition by Gazprom Group, as well as the largest suppliers of cryogenic equipment and licensors of modern liquefaction technologies.
Besides, Gas-Oil serves as the holder of Gazprom Group’s NGV assets with a 50 per cent share in the charter capital of Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo.
Gas-Oil’s environmental policy is aimed at protecting nature and preventing harmful environmental impacts during its production operations, as well minimizing man-made impacts.
The company presents environmental impact assessment reports and sets and updates the standards for maximum permissible emissions every year. Gas-Oil adheres to all requirements of the Russian environmental legislation.
Gas-Oil has a pro-active social responsibility policy.
The company offers its support to orphanages and the Club for Children and Teenagers in the Bagrationovsky District, Kaliningrad Region.
