Quality Management System of Gazprom
In line with Russian Government directives, Gazprom’s efforts for the creation of the corporate Quality Management System were completed in 2015. The Company’s Board of Directors approved the fundamental document governing quality assurance at the Gazprom Group, namely the Regulation on Quality Management System.
Gazprom’s Quality Management System (QMS) is key to putting the Regulation in practice.
The implementation of Gazprom’s QMS in compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 international standard is a strategic decision aimed at improving the Company's performance and laying a solid foundation for initiatives focused on sustainable development.
The Quality Assurance Policy of Gazprom was approved by the Company’s Order No. 643 dated September 20, 2017. The document defines the mission, strategic goal and priorities of the Company in the field of quality assurance.
Pursuant to Gazprom’s Order No. 696 dated November 8, 2016, Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee, was appointed as the quality assurance officer. The Order also sets out the scope and the principal actors of the QMS.
Gazprom’s QMS also applies to subsidiary companies, covering such activities as natural gas, condensate and oil production, transportation, processing and storage.

The Company’s quality assurance officer makes efforts to ensure that Gazprom’s quality objectives are met.
Gazprom’s Quality Assurance Council seeks to employ a comprehensive approach and to coordinate the actions of Gazprom’s structural units and subsidiaries in the course of the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the QMS.
The main goal of the Quality Assurance Working Group is to provide for the development, implementation and operation of Gazprom’s QMS.
The quality management unit, Gazprom’s Department headed by Pavel Krylov, pursues the following objectives:
- enhancement of the corporate QMS for products, works and services delivered and consumed by the Company;
- coordination of efforts under the policy for QMS integration in companies supplying products (works, services) on the basis of Gazprom’s set of QMS standards.
The Department arranges internal audits, reviews the progress of quality assurance goals, and assesses key performance indicators of QMS processes.
The top management of Gazprom takes the necessary measures to continuously improve the Company’s performance and efficiency.
Managerial decision-making on improvements in the main lines of work and technological development of the Company is carried out by Gazprom’s structural units together with the quality management unit.
Work is underway to streamline Gazprom’s QMS, to expand its scope and framework, and to institute Gazprom’s Quality Assurance Prize.
